Berry Breakfast Smoothie

Well, guess what? I think I found a shake that will actually for when we run out of our regular inflammation shake. Last week, we ran short on money to buy our daughter's regular inflammation shake (from Progressive Medical Center) since it costs about $50 a container and it only lasts 2 weeks. After several days of not having it, she began to hurt really bad in her joints. That is one of the symptoms of Celiac and IBS. So here I was panicking as to know what to give her until we could more. Well, her naturopathic doctor said I could always substitute Pea Protein if we ran out of the regular stuff. So I ran down to our local health food store and bought some Pea Proten powder. Of course, it was gluten-free, egg-free, dairy-free and definitely vegan so we were all good there. And it did not contain sesame seeds since she is highly allergic to those as well - I was so excited!!!! So I got home and start mixing up all the things I know that takes out inflammation. I had just bought some Plexus products and had some Doterra essential oils on hand as well. If I could do this, I knew she would quit hurting. So here is what I mixed together for her morning smoothie. Of course, the pic is missing the frozen blueberries and blackberries - hehe. Any type of frozen fruit will work.

Ingredients for Morning Smoothie

Grapefruit Seed Extract -  helps to kill Candida, natural antiseptic, anti-viral, anti-                                 fungal

XFactor - Plexus Multi-Vitamin - basically like a multi-vitamin on steroids - contains New Zealand Black Currant - I even take this myself and it has levelled out my blood sugar and gives me a lot of energy.

BioCleanse - oxygenates the digestive system which aids in healing - helps to expel pathogens

Ease - helps to eliminate pain - contains Turmeric and Green Lipid Mussell powder

DigestZen - essential oil blend that aids digestion for those with Celiac and IBS

DigestZen

Glutamine - helps heal the digestive tract

Stevia -  natural sweetener

Vanilla Extract -  taste better with this

Pea Protein - gives lots of energy, great for those with allergies - We use the Now brand.

Coconut Milk - great to use as a replacement for dairy products - The So Delicious brand does not have the coconut taste.

We have learned that this is the perfect morning shake that gives a lot of energy as well as having what is needed for healing a leaky gut. Our daughter, Elisabeth, is feeling so good now. I also threw in some Grapefruit Seed Extract to help get rid of the Candida. Everyone is different so you might just have to play with it to see what works exactly for you. Basically, any protein powder will work as long as it does not contain ingredients that have allergens.

Check back soon - I will be posting the ingredients for the nightly shake that our daughter has to take to avoid the symptoms of Celiac and IBS.  If she takes these shakes everyday, she does not usually have any problems. It looks like she is healing gradually because she can sometimes skip one or both shakes for a day or so and not feel bad. This did not happen at first - when she started recovering several months ago.  I hope this helps you guys. There is a way to heal from Celiac and IBS and it is working!!!

This smoothie is even a great replacement for breakfast if you are in a hurry. I even mix this up for myself when I don't have time to cook breakfast and have to quickly leave the house.

I think it is like 24 grams of protein so it's like a full meal!!

Anyway, have fun with it and enjoy the energy!!
